  • Condition: I would grade the lot as follows; About Uncirculated for the 50 Centimes, About Uncirculated for the One Franc, and Very Fine for the Two Francs note. The 50 centimes has a pinhole in both the right and the left margins, a few minor bumps, is clean with no graffiti or tears. The one franc has a light vertical fold , a few bumps, no appreciable soiling, no graffiti, and no tears. The two francs note has a vertical fold, some general wrinkling, some soiling and a few minor stains and a smal;l tears in the right margin which does not reach the design. All three notes are well preserved and still look great. Please see photos for additional condition information.

    A lot of three small size banknotes. These are the March 10, 1920 Paris Chamber of Commerce issued emergency banknotes. The lot consists of an About Uncirculated 50 Centimes, an About Uncirculated One Franc, and a Very Fine Two Francs notes. All three notes display the head of a woman on the front. The 50 centimes is red, has two signatures, is series D7 and has the serial number 099,628, the one franc note has two signatures, is series C38, and has the serial number 0,010,054, while the two francs note has two signatures, is series A43, and has the serial number 053,115. The 50 centimes has the denomination on the back, while the one franc has the image of a one franc coin on the back and the two francs has the image of a two francs coin on the back. A lot of three scarce notes that are difficult to find and which would fit nicely in your collection. The notes have no watermarks that we could find. The notes are not listed in Krause Standard Catalog of World Paper Money and as such do not have pick numbers. However, they are listed in J. Pirot Catalog of special French Issues and hence the JP reference numbers listed. Please carefully review the scan as it is part and parcel of our description.

    The 50 Centimes measures ~3 3/4" by ~2 3/8", the one franc measures ~4 1/4" by ~2 7/8", and the two francs is ~4 1/2" by ~3 1/4".

    50 Centimes is JP5, One Franc is JP6, Two Francs is JP7. The notes are not listed in Krause Standard Catalog of World Paper Money and as such do not have pick numbers. However, they are listed in J. Pirot Catalog of special French Issues and hence the JP reference numbers listed.
