Vehicle Details2006 Cayenne Turbo S. Runs and drives, but has CEL and misfire. Has been my daily driver for many years (65 mile round trip to work). Several years ago started to get intermittent CEL with primary cats not heating up quickly enough, was never a drivability issue, eventually CEL was more continuous due to this issue but it always ran well. Also would intermittently (depending on load) shift harder 4-5th. This spring started to notice mildly rough idle intermittently. Had vacuum lines redone, interestingly helped the shifting but still has a mildy rough idle and misfire appeared. Coil pack swap didn’t seem to change it, shop thinks it could be compression. If I was handy myself I’d keep digging into it and throwing parts at it, but it’s been my primary commuting wheels so I’ve already replaced it with a newer (but not nearly as cool) Cayenne S. Has typical intermittent VW starter squeal. Cosmetically in good shape, stone chips on front commensurate with miles: This one has just everything on it: pano roof, leather package on dash and door panels, special windshield which gives it a copper/rose tint, Alcantara headliner, wood trim package, Bose sub in the back. I’m sure the original sticker was in excess of 0k in 2006. They didn’t send many Turbo S’s and there are a lot of imitators. It has all the proper Turbo S bits: enormous calipers and 2 piece rotors up front (very mild brake pulsing- stops incredibly), specific factory wheels (convex in front (to clear calipers), concave in back (to look cool), Turbo S specific exhaust tips, and lighted door sill logos. Newer front upper control arms. Air suspension works fine, 2 speed transfer case with longitudinal locker. A few years ago one of the rear calipers was sticking, they were 6 weeks back ordered from Germany so I ordered clean used low-mileage from SW U.S., being sold as “Turbo S” rear calipers- of course they weren’t- instead they were standard Turbo rear calipers, but had the shop go ahead and install with matching size rotors as I needed to get back on the road. Originals are boxed and come with car- I’m told they can be rebuilt but never pursued it. I hate to see this Cayenne go- it’s one of those that when the future grandkids ask “what’s the coolest car you ever owned?” It will probably have been this one. Thanks for looking
