Antique Christian Boelandt Violin with M&W Bulls Head Case and Bow & Accessories

Description

Violin was made by Christian Boelandt in approximately 1865 in Germany.  It has had repairs done to it in recent years; restrung, chin rest replacement, and new bridge.  It's in excellent condition, likely needs to be tuned. It has a wonderful deep brown color and is a 4/4 (23").   The bow has no marking on it but is in excellent condition has been well taken care of, no rips of the hair or chips or cracks in the wood, it has a beautiful mother of pearl inlay on the finger grip.  The case is an antique as well, a Maulbetsch & Whittemore bulls head brand.  In decent condition does have some wear on the outside and the leather handle is quite worn but still attached, the metal clasps still work and the inside is lined with a soft felt-like cloth, a piece that helps hold the bow in place has detached but could possibly be repaired.  This set would make a great gift for a violinist or music lover or even to add to your own musical collection.
