  • Condition: Interesting Old Italian labeled Violin with a hand singed label that reads: G. Modaudo Scolpi Fino al Manico Anno 1929 -Catania .. The violin also has a faint inscription on the middle inside back reads: F.R Catanier. It's hard to picture the inscription, because of the angle tried by best. The violin is in immediate playing conditions!! however new strings will do wonders!! Cracks to the top are fully repaired and secure, most of them fully cleated from the inside!

    Lovely golden red varnish honey yellow undertones covers the one piece maple back with matching ribs and neck. The spruce top is made of a good
    medium grain wood.
    The violin has an inside label that reads:
    G.Modaudo
    Scolpi fino al manico
    Anno 192(9) written with pen – Catania
    The label is also signed with ink
    There is also an inscription inside
    towards upper
    middle back that faintly reads F R
    Catanier !!
    The violin has ample power and a full far fetching tone! See video!
    It’s been well take care of and has been well cherished for years! With a right saddle crack that goes up past the bridge and another going down from the upper right fhole eye past the bridge. Both are fully repaired and cleated from the inside. With a couple other small, minor solid repairs to the top and a button repair.
    No damage, or repairs to the peg box, scroll or ribs. All joints and seams are tightly sealed, in the back, top, sides and anywhere in between.
    Will make for an excellent workhorse player violin!
