Very Old 4/4 violin, Superb tone!

Description

This is a beautifully restored antique violin. There is no label or any other markings to identify exactly the provenance or the maker of the violin. It is clearly very old,possibly late 1700s
. to early 1800s. The violin has been converted to modern specs, but neck is still of the old baroque construction.
The violin is very light, only 14.45oz (409g) It is resonant, even to the touch. The violin has been completely restored and revarnished, maybe a few times over the centuries of playing. This is a quality handcrafted instrument. It has one piece mildly flamed back and a very tight grained spruce top. The violin has some, hard to see, old repaired cracks on the lower bout, on each side of the tailpiece, and in the middle section of the one piece back  The repairs are very old and completely stable.
The violin is structurally sound, and in excellent  ready to play condition. The tone is amazingly good even with the old strings. It is one of the best sounding  violins
