    Description

William Chadwick of London 4/4 Violin. This violin was made in a German shop for the William Chadwick London Company. It is an Amati copy. Handwritten manufacture date is 1909. The handwritten serial number is 2301. Top table is two-piece fine vertical grained spruce. Bottom table is one-piece of nicely flamed maple, as are the sides. Very clear tonal quality. Varnish wear, scratches and chips as would be with most instruments of this vintage. One peg is not original. Tailpiece has a chip. Strings, bridge and tailpiece are on and functional, but an instrument of this type should be set up, serviced and adjusted to the specifications and preferences of the buyer. With a little attention, this will be a superb instrument. Please ask ANY AND ALL questions you may have BEFORE making a purchase.
